Had some feedback over the last couple of days..and here's a list of the most important features we will be implementing asap:
- templates (splitting the left sitemap into 2 tabs)
- wireframe page duplication
- direct text entry onto layout
- size change of text box components
- direct URL invitation to a public wireframe page with no sign in.
There are a few other things as well, cosmetic changes but those are the main things. Oh and tonight, wait for some peace and quite and make 4 movies for the home screen, and pack before flying off to San Francisco tomorrow morning (ugh, 14 hour flight). Macworld here i come!

14 hours (ugh) = an extra day (yipee)
ReplyDeleteSome initial feedback, so I don't forget.
ReplyDelete1. Once in a while I would get stuck in a grouping mode, not sure why that kept happening.
2. On some of the icons in the center bar there are no mouse over titles, not sure what those do.
3. When I tried to export using PDF (great feature by the way) it would only do a page at a time, can you export all pages at once in one pdf?
4. I tried to use the add link option and it did not show up in the wireform or pdf file. Maybe it's not supposed to, not sure.
5. Add an email/newsletter sign-up component.
That's good for now. Realize this is coming from a guy who does not read directions, but a help button in the wireform panel would be helpful if there is a FAQ.
Good job. Great idea and really easy to use.
1. not sure why the grouping problem occurred, but I will see if I can make it happen again.
ReplyDelete2. I'll make sure there are text hints on the middle tools.
3. For multiple page PDF, I don't think it is too much of a problem...just may take a while to do it.
4. the linking does not show up in wireframe, but on preview (comments), as you mouse over a linked item, it highlights grey.
5. Still working on support features, and there is a link to a help movie on login - we still have to add a faq, mainly since we are still adding features over the next few days and weeks.
thanks for the feedback...
Direct text entry into layout is key.
ReplyDeleteAnother very important feature is the ability to have wireframe layouts respond to basic keystrokes -- like having the tab key focus sequentially on inputs and being able to have the return key take you to a new layout.
If you can nail those, even in a really basic way to start, I'll switch permanently from Fireworks.
We are working on a way to get direct text entry for at least text objects, and possibly other components after.
ReplyDeletecould you elaborate on what keystrokes you want to use?..Not sure I understood exactly what you were asking. Which inputs for tab key? Return key to take you to a new layout, but at from which point?
I need to be able to set up keystrokes to mimic a desktop or browser-based application.
ReplyDeleteHere are some specifics, but I'm sure there are others. Ideally, we would have the option to set it up so:
- hitting a specific key takes you to a specific screen -- eg: hitting "return" shows you a screen with a "thanks for your submission" message.
- hitting a specific key moves you to the next form element on a given screen -- eg: hitting "tab" focuses on the next form element or hotspot on the current screen you are on.
- typing into a text box is enabled
The tab idea, in preview mode is a good one and probably something we can implement. For the other idea, choosing a command key to move up or down and open pages may work, other than that it gets too complicated for the app.
